LIFE, Inc. to Host 35th Anniversary Celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act!
On Friday, July 25, 2025, LIFE, Inc. will proudly host its Annual ADA Celebration at the CenterPointe Event Center, marking the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This landmark legislation, signed into law by President George H.W. Bush in 1990, has transformed the lives of millions by securing equal access and opportunities in employment, education, transportation, business, government services, and telecommunications for individuals with disabilities.
Thanks to the generous support of Title Sponsors H-E-B and BritKare Home Medical, this year’s event promises an inspiring afternoon of fun, food, family, and community connection. Attendees will enjoy an art exhibit and competition, prize giveaways, and access to a variety of community resources provided by local businesses and disability service organizations. Live entertainment will feature Andy Martinez, founding member of 806 DJs, and Dustin Garrett, known for his eclectic musical talent.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets are also available for purchase at LIFE, Inc. (8240 Boston Ave.) or online at www.lifeinctx.org. This celebration is the only one of its kind in the South Plains—and all are welcome to attend!
Established in 1988, LIFE, Inc. is a non-residential, nonprofit Center for Independent Living serving Lubbock and the South Plains region. Operated by and for people with disabilities, LIFE empowers individuals to live independently in the community through services including Independent Living Skills Training, Peer Support, Adaptive Sports, Health & Fitness, Assistive Technology, Job Readiness Training, Nursing Home to Community & Youth Transition, and Social Security Advocacy.
