The purpose of the State Independent Living Council is to develop the Texas State Plan for Independent Living, in cooperation with the Divisions of Rehabilitation Services, (DRS), and Blind Services, (DBS), of the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, and the network of Centers for Independent Living (CIL).

Getting Fit to Live, Work, and Play! is a five-year initiative that aims to improve quality of life for all people with disabilities through education and access to health and fitness programs and information.

The Texas Statewide Independent Living Conference is part of the outreach efforts of the Texas State Independent Living Council — it addresses a wide range of topics for Independent Living. REGISTER NOW!

The Transportation Works initiative is a project focusing on transportation mobility options for people with disabilities living in rural counties and small urban areas.
